From frumpy to fabulous, hopefully

I may be reading to many refashion blogs lately because when I saw this little robe thingy at a local thrift store, I went a little nuts with excitement. I'm thinking about refashioning it into a summer dress for myself or maybe a skirt for the girls. Very Sound of Music, no?

What pieces I have left over will be tucked away and eventually used in a vintage sheet quilt I plan to make in the far distant future -- need to collect the sheets first. My inspiration.

Wow! You really are taking this addiction to a whole new level. But I have no doubt you will create something fabulous out of this frock!

Th pieces in that quilt look like sheets I remember. I may take a look and see if I have any old sheets downstairs. Some would be from the 60's or 70's. Is that vintage?

These are the types of quilts that have been handed down in my family and I LOVE them. They are so soft and comfortable and just feel like they've been loved to death. Can't wait to see your finished one...

Cara, More "vintage" sheets on their way. Some are Gram's. I'll bring them this w.e. I'm beginning to feel I shouldn't throw anything away in case you may find an amazing way to recycle it and make it into something beautiful. Mom E.

Oh, I would kill for that housedress and I would wear it proudly the way it is. And maybe add some curlers in my hair and a smoke hanging out of my mouth. And fuzzy slippers too.
